Delete a transcript

Overview#

Once the minutes are made, you can delete just the original transcript if you no longer need it or do not want to keep it. The minutes, including the summary, decisions and next actions, stay as they are.

What it does and does not do#

• It does: delete the transcript saved on the activity.
• It does not: delete the minutes, tasks or deal. A deleted transcript cannot be restored.

Steps#

1. Open the Minutes card on the activity.
2. Click Delete transcript. On the import screen it is below the input box, next to the character count; on draft or confirmed minutes, open View transcript to find it.
3. A confirmation explains that the transcript will be deleted, the minutes (summary, decisions and so on) will stay, and this cannot be undone. Click Delete.

On the screen#

• After deleting, a confirmation appears and View transcript is no longer shown.
• If the transcript in the box has not been saved yet (you have not extracted), the button does not appear. Use Clear to empty the box.
• AI note-taker recordings are deleted from the recording service as soon as the transcript is brought into the activity. When you delete the transcript of a meeting recorded by the AI note-taker, Bookmi also asks the recording service to delete it again, just in case.

FAQ#

• Are the minutes deleted too? No. Only the transcript is deleted.
• I may want to extract again later: paste the transcript again and click Re-extract. A deleted transcript cannot be restored, so copy it first if you need it.
• Where is the recording itself kept? AI note-taker recordings are deleted from the recording service after the transcript is imported. Recordings you made yourself in Zoom or other tools are managed in those services.
