Overview
This is where you hand a meeting transcript to Bookmi, from any meeting tool: a Zoom AI Companion summary, Google Meet Gemini notes, a Teams transcript, .vtt or .srt subtitles exported from Zoom or Teams, or text from an in-person meeting transcribed with a tool such as Notta. The transcript is saved on the activity as soon as you click Extract with AI, so you never have to paste it again if the AI fails.
What it does and does not do
- It does: accept pasted text; read .txt, .md, .vtt and .srt files (subtitle numbers, timestamps and the WEBVTT header are removed, speaker tags become "Speaker: ", and consecutive repeated lines are merged).
- It does not: accept audio or video files. Transcripts can be up to 400,000 characters.
Steps
- Open the Minutes card on the right side of the activity, below Activity content. Before there are minutes, it shows the import screen.
- Paste the transcript into the large text box.
- To read a file, click Choose file. The file name and character count appear below the box.
- Click Clear to start over.
- Choose a template and click Extract with AI ("Draft minutes with AI, then review and apply").
On the screen
Getting the transcript from each tool
- Zoom: copy the AI Companion summary you receive after the meeting, or download the subtitles (.vtt) from the recording.
- Google Meet: with Gemini notes turned on, the summary and transcript are saved in a Google Doc after the meeting; copy all of it.
- Teams: download the .vtt from the transcript in the meeting chat, or copy the text.
- In-person meetings: turn the recording into text with Notta or a similar tool and paste the text.
- Meetings with the AI note-taker: nothing to do; the transcript arrives on its own ("Record and transcribe with the AI note-taker").
Display
- One "Speaker: words" line per turn is read most accurately, but it is not required.
- A transcript from the AI note-taker is marked as such; the mark disappears once you edit the text by hand.
- Transcripts do not appear in the activity list, only on the activity. Once minutes exist, open it with View transcript.
FAQ
- Can I upload audio or video? No. Turn it into text in your meeting tool or a tool such as Notta first.
- Can I paste just the Gemini summary? Yes, but fewer details can be picked up. Paste the full transcript when you can.
- The subtitle file repeats the same line many times: .vtt subtitles often do. Consecutive repeated lines are merged when the file is read.
- I want to remove the transcript: see "Delete a transcript". The minutes stay.
