Overview

Product Management is the source of the menu shown on the ordering tablets. Create categories, add products, then combine specifications (size, spice level and so on), add-ons, courses or all-you-can-eat plans, and required rules as needed.

Changes reach the ordering tablets in one of two ways:

  • Off Sale (sold out) and deletions apply as soon as you save.
  • New products and edits to price, name, images, specs and so on pile up as "N unsynced" and go out together when you click Sync to Tablets. This keeps guests from seeing a half-finished price change or menu swap.

Steps

1. Create categories

  1. Open Orders & menu → Products.
  2. Click Add Category in the Categories area.
  3. Enter the Category Name. AI Auto-translate fills in the other languages.
  4. Pick the shops (leave all unticked to share it across the company), Sort Order, Display Color, Drink type and Status, then save.

Drag categories to reorder them. Select a category to show its edit and delete icons.

2. Add a product

  1. Click Add Product.
  2. Choose Applicable Shops and enter the Product Name and Category.
  3. Choose the Tax Category and enter the Dine-in Price (10% tax). The price before tax and the takeout price are calculated for you.
  4. Enter Stock (-1 means unlimited), Description and Display Color.
  5. Tick Reservable if guests should be able to pick it when booking.
  6. Set Status and save.

3. Add images, courses, specs and add-ons

Click Edit (the pencil icon) on a product row to open the detailed tabs:

  • Basic Info: kitchen print name, original and cost price, minimum order quantity, prep time, available days and time slots (empty = all day), allergens and the product type
  • Images: click or drag to upload, then Set as Main
  • Course Settings: appears when the type is Course/Set. Create groups, set min and max selections, and choose the items and extra prices
  • Buffet Settings: appears when the type is Buffet Plan. Set the time limit, last order and the selectable items (max per round)
  • Specifications: pick a spec and click its values to build combinations, then enter a price before tax and stock for each
  • Add-ons: choose the add-ons that can go with this product

Click Save on each tab, or Save & Close at the end to save everything.

4. Prepare specifications (size, spice level…)

  1. Open Orders & menu → Specifications and click Add Spec Group.
  2. Choose the Shop, enter a group name (for example Size) and save.
  3. Click Add Option on the group's row to add choices (for example Large) with an Extra Price.
  4. Pick this group on the product's Specifications tab.

5. Prepare add-ons

  1. Open Orders & menu → Add-ons and click Add Add-on.
  2. Choose the Shop and enter the name, Tax Category and Base Price (before tax). Dine-in and takeout prices are calculated for you.
  3. Enter Stock (or tick Unlimited stock) and Sort Order, then save.
  4. Attach it to products on their Add-ons tab.

6. Create required rules

A required rule says "if a guest orders from this category, they must also pick from that one" (for example, one drink with every course).

  1. Open Orders & menu → Required Rules and click Add Rule.
  2. Enter a Rule Name.
  3. Choose the Trigger Category (when a customer orders from it) and the Required Category (what they must pick from).
  4. Enter the Min Quantity, set Status to Active and save.
Tip

If the category lists are empty, select one shop on a screen such as Products, then open this screen again.

7. Publish to the ordering tablets

  1. Select one shop at the top. Each sync publishes to one shop only.
  2. If you see "N unsynced", click Sync to Tablets.
  3. "Notified N tablet(s)" means it's done.

On the screen

  • Tax Category: Standard Rate (10%) is 10% for both dine-in and takeout (alcohol, for example). Reduced Rate (8%) is 10% dine-in and 8% takeout. Tax Exempt has no tax.
  • Product type: Single Item, Course/Set or Buffet Plan. Products marked Staff Only are hidden from the guests' tablets.
  • Badges in the list: Bundle, Buffet, Specs, Addons, Staff Only, Reservable. "In 2 bundle(s)" means two sets include this item.
  • Quick edits: click a price or stock figure to change it in place (Enter saves, Esc cancels).
  • Required Category (a category option): guests must always pick from that category. Use required rules when the requirement depends on what else they ordered.

FAQ

  • How do I mark something as sold out? Click On Sale in the list to switch it to Off Sale. The tablets update right away.
  • I changed a price but the tablets still show the old one. Click Sync to Tablets. If you see "Synced (no tablet registered for push; will apply on next refresh)", the change appears when the tablet next refreshes.
  • I want to delete a spec or add-on that's in use. The screen shows how many products use it. Tick I understand the impact, delete anyway to delete it; the links to those products are removed, but the products stay.
  • How do I delete several products? Tick them in the list and click Delete Selected. Their images, specs, add-on links and set groups are removed too, and this can't be undone.
  • Where do I build the picture pages of the digital menu? → Build a digital menu (menu books)
Note

If you don't see this screen in the side menu, check your plan or your role's permissions.
