Connect Gmail and set up sender addresses

How it works#

Sales emails are sent from each member's own Gmail. Bookmi asks Google only for permission to send; it cannot read your inbox.

Once connected, your Gmail account address becomes a sender. You can also add other sender addresses, such as your company info@, an address on your own domain, or a bookmi.ai address issued by Bookmi.

Connect Gmail#

1. Open your account at the bottom left → Settings → Email.
2. Click Connect with Google and allow access with your own Google account.
3. The status shows Connected and your Gmail account address appears under Sender addresses as the default.

The Connect Gmail and Connect buttons in the compose window and on the Mail screen open the same settings.

Send from another address#

1. In Gmail, add and verify the address under Settings → Accounts and Import → Add another email address.
2. In Bookmi, open Email and click Add sender address.
3. Enter the address, sender name (leave empty to use your name), label (Personal, Work or Other) and signature, then save. Tick "Use as default sender" if you will use it most.
4. Click Send test on that address. A test email goes to your connected Gmail account; check that the From line shows the new address.
5. Click Make default on the address you use most. It is preselected whenever you write an email.

On the screen#

• Test status: "Not verified", "Test sent (date)" or "Test failed (date)". Choosing an unverified or failed address in the compose window shows a warning.
• Each address has two settings: Customer replies (bringing replies in) and Visible to teammates (sharing for new conversations).
• "Sent today" and "View sending rules" refer to Sequences (50 per person per day, 10 per hour). One-to-one sales emails are counted separately, up to 200 per day.
• While the connection is broken, sequence emails pause. They resume automatically when you reconnect.

FAQ#

• "Test emails are limited to 5 per hour": each person can send 5 tests per hour.
• "This address is used by another company": a bookmi.ai address can be registered by only one company.
• I mistyped an address: addresses cannot be edited. Delete it and add it again.
• I deleted the default address: your Gmail account address becomes the default. The account address itself cannot be deleted.
• I want to use a different Google account: Disconnect, then connect again with the account you want.
