Missing permissions and disconnecting

Overview#

Google's permission screen lets you untick items one by one. Features that need an unticked item stop working, so Bookmi shows "Some permissions are turned off" on the card and names the features affected. Click Reconnect and allow everything; your import and export settings stay as they were. Depending on when you connected, the calendar list or Bookmi calendar permission may be missing, and Reconnect is shown in the same way.

Disconnecting stops meeting import, export and updates to Google Meet events. Exported events stay in Google Calendar and are no longer updated.

Steps#

Add the missing permissions#

1. If the card under Settings → Google Calendar says "Some permissions are turned off (…). Reconnect and allow all items.", click Reconnect.
2. Allow all items on the Google screen and continue.
3. Back in Bookmi, the message is gone.

Disconnect#

1. Click Disconnect on the card under Settings → Google Calendar. Confirm "Disconnect Google Calendar? Events already exported stay in Google Calendar and will no longer be updated." You can also use Disconnect on the Calendar page.
2. The card shows as not connected, and Meeting import and Export to Google Calendar disappear.
3. Delete exported events in Google Calendar if you no longer need them. If you exported to a Bookmi calendar, you can delete the whole "Bookmi" calendar in Google Calendar settings.

On the screen#

The features in brackets on the card are the ones you cannot use:

• Meeting import: automatic import and Import now.
• Exporting events and Google Meet links: export, and issuing and updating Google Meet events.
• Free/busy times: everyone shows Not connected in Colleagues' availability.
• Calendar list: you cannot choose calendars to import from (only your main calendar is imported) or change the export destination.
• Creating a Bookmi calendar: Create a Bookmi calendar.

FAQ#

• Does reconnecting reset my settings? No. The import and export switches, the destination and the calendars to import from stay as they were.
• What if I connect again after disconnecting? With the same Google account, your previous settings are still there. Changes made while disconnected were not exported, so click Export the next 30 days if needed.
• I want to use a different Google account: Disconnect, connect with the new account, then check the export destination and the calendars to import from.
• What about Google Meet links after disconnecting? Meeting links saved on activities keep working, but the Google events are no longer updated when you change the activity.
