Overview

Connect your own Google account to Bookmi and your Google Calendar and Bookmi share one schedule. Meetings with external guests are imported as activities automatically, and the sales activities, whereabouts and leave you enter in Bookmi are exported to Google Calendar. You only enter things in Bookmi, and reschedules and cancellations follow in Google.

The connection and settings belong to each person. The company never reads everyone's calendars.

What it does and does not do

What it does

What it does not do

  • It is not a two-way sync. Editing an exported event in Google Calendar does not change Bookmi, and your personal Google events never enter Bookmi (only meetings with external guests are imported).
  • It never reads what is on colleagues' calendars. For colleagues, only free/busy times are checked.
  • No internal notes, no customer invitations. Exported events have no guests.
  • It never changes sharing settings or deletes calendars.
  • Outlook and Microsoft 365 calendars are not supported.

Steps

  1. Open Settings → Google Calendar (also reachable from Account on the settings home or Settings in the top-right menu; you do not need to be an admin). Before you connect, it shows Permissions Bookmi uses.
  2. Click Connect. You can also use Connect Google Calendar on the Calendar page.
  3. Choose your account on the Google screen, allow all items and continue.
  4. When the card shows Connected and the email you connected, you are done. Meeting import and Export to Google Calendar appear below the card. Both are off at first; turn on what you need.
Tip

If you untick an item, only the features that need it stop working. When in doubt, allow everything. If you already unticked something, see Missing permissions and disconnecting.

On the screen

Permissions Bookmi uses (shown before you connect): "View, create and change events on calendars you can edit, including shared calendars (meeting import, exporting events, Google Meet links) / create a Bookmi calendar / free/busy times (yours and colleagues who share theirs with you) / your calendar list. Bookmi never changes sharing settings or deletes calendars."

  • View, create and change events: meeting import (only the calendars you choose are read), export, and issuing and updating Google Meet events.
  • Create a Bookmi calendar: for Create a Bookmi calendar.
  • Free/busy times: for Colleagues' availability and for suggesting meeting times in sales emails. Event details are not read.
  • Calendar list: for choosing calendars to import from and the export destination.

FAQ

  • Can I connect for a colleague? No. Each person connects, imports and exports with their own Google account from their own settings. You do not need to be an admin.
  • Which Google account is connected? The email appears after Connected on the card. To switch accounts, Disconnect and connect again.
  • Does personal Gmail work? You can connect, import and export. Out of office for leave may not be available, in which case leave is exported as an all-day event. Colleagues' free/busy appears when it is shared within the same Google Workspace.
  • Do changes I make in Google Calendar come back to Bookmi? No. Export runs one way, from Bookmi to Google; make changes in Bookmi.
  • Can colleagues see my private events? Bookmi never copies your Google events to a calendar shared in the company. Colleagues only see the free/busy times your Google account already shares with them.
  • What about Outlook calendars? Not supported at the moment.
