Cadence

  • Three to five steps is a good range. More can feel like spam.
  • Make the first touch within 24 hours, while interest is high.
  • Start with gaps of two to four days and make them longer later (for example: same day, 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks).
  • Mixing email and LINE makes it more likely one of them gets noticed.

Writing

  • One message, one point, one request (for example: "Could you share a time for a 15-minute call?").
  • Keep email subjects around 30 characters and make the content obvious.
  • Use variables for names and company names so it does not read like bulk mail.
  • Keep LINE messages to three or four lines.

Running it

  • Try it on your own contact before going live. A one-step sequence with a zero wait arrives within minutes (or the next morning between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m.).
  • Check the send log regularly and fix the address or LINE link for contacts marked Skipped or Failed.
  • When someone replies on LINE, Remove them and follow up one to one.

Sending rules (Japan's Act on Specified Electronic Mail)

  • Promotional email may, in principle, only be sent to people who agreed in advance to receive it. Focus on customers you do business with or who contacted you.
  • End the message with your company name, the person in charge and contact details. Putting them in your signature is the easiest way.
  • The unsubscribe link is added automatically. Nothing more is sent to people who unsubscribe.
