View and attach supporting documents alongside journal entries
The Journal now shows each journal entry side by side with its supporting documents (store receipts, invoices, receipts and more), and you can attach documents to manual entries.
Before
To check the supporting documents for a journal entry, you had to switch between screens such as the receipt register and expenses.
What's new
- The journal has a new Supporting documents column that shows how many documents each entry has. Click it to open a viewer with the supporting documents on the left and the journal entry on the right (zoom and rotate, and use the ← → keys to move to the previous or next entry).
- Supporting documents attached to the original records appear automatically, including expense receipts, invoices in accounts payable, receipts from expense claims, copies of invoices and receipts you issued, and matched bank statement items.
- Manually entered journal entries can also be linked to supporting documents from Add supporting document, either by choosing from the supporting document register or by uploading a file. Documents with similar dates and amounts are shown first.
- Clicking Unlink doesn't delete the supporting document itself, and records of linking and unlinking are kept as history under Japan's Electronic Bookkeeping Act.
- A warning appears when the amounts on the supporting document and the journal entry don't match.
- Filter journal entries by Supporting documents: Yes or Supporting documents: No.
