An Inbox view in Mail
Mail now has an Inbox view that lists every email you've received, in the order it arrived. We also made sending, undoing and the needs-reply count easier to read.
Before
Once an email was marked as done or replied to, it left Needs reply and got mixed in with conversations where you had only sent mail, which made it hard to find.
What's new
- Inbox: Shows every email you've received, newest first, including ones marked as done, ones you've replied to and ones colleagues CC'd you on. Emails still to handle are tagged Needs reply.
- Needs-reply count colors: The count is red while there are unopened emails and turns gray once you've opened them all (the same applies to Mail in the left menu). The count goes down when you reply or click Mark as done.
- Colleague CCs start as done: Emails from colleagues, or customer replies to a colleague's email, where you're only in CC or BCC don't go into Needs reply (you can still find them in Inbox).
- Sending status: For a few seconds after you click Send (while you can still undo), the email appears in Sent as Sending instead of in Scheduled. Scheduled now only holds emails you've scheduled for a specific time.
- Undone emails go back to drafts: An email cancelled with Undo send returns to your drafts with everything you wrote.
- Awaiting reply removed: The Awaiting reply view was almost identical to Sent, so we removed it. To follow up on an email, set Remind if no reply when you write it.
Who it's for
