Pay expense claims from petty cash and move between it and the journal

You can now reimburse cash expense claims from petty cash, filter the journal by petty cash fund, and jump between the journal and the petty cash book to check balances and settlement status.

What's new

  • When confirming payment of an expense claim paid in cash, you can choose "Cash to reimburse from": company cash or a petty cash fund.

- The petty cash fund you hold as custodian is selected by default.
- You'll see a notice if the fund's balance is insufficient.
- Claims reimbursed from petty cash now appear in the petty cash book and are reflected in its balance. Previously, cash-paid claims were recorded against company cash and did not appear in the petty cash book.
- Paid claims show which petty cash fund was used.

  • You can filter the Journal by Petty cash to show only the entries in that fund's book, month by month.
  • Entries in a petty cash book show a label under the voucher number: Unsettled, In settlement, Settled, Replenishment, or Count difference. Click the label to open the petty cash book with that row highlighted.
  • Entry details now show the petty cash fund and the settlement report period the entry belongs to, with a View in petty cash book link. Details also explain what happens when you edit an entry in an approved or submitted period.
  • The Petty cash book has a new View in journal button that opens that fund's entries for the month in the Journal. Each row shows its source, such as expense, expense claim, or manual entry.
