Accounting: minor improvements and fixes (September 2026)
Here's a roundup of the minor improvements and fixes we made to Accounting in September.
Improvements
- Consumption tax: For purchases from businesses that are not registered qualified invoice issuers, the deductible percentage under the transitional measures of the Qualified Invoice System is now calculated at 80% or 50% based on each transaction date. The breakdown is shown in the annual closing calculation.
- Consumption tax: Under standard taxation, when your taxable sales ratio is below 95% or in similar cases, you can now choose the Input tax credit method (itemized method or lump-sum proportional allocation method) for the calculation.
- The trial balance and the consumption tax summary by tax category can now be printed as formal reports.
- On the invoice creation screen, clicking Specify tax rate now lets you choose 10%, 8% (reduced rate) or non-taxable for each line item.
- A new Accounts tab in Settings > Accounts & rules lets you view the chart of accounts, add or rename your own accounts, and set the account names used when exporting to Yayoi Accounting or freee.
- Added standard accounts, including prepaid expenses, security deposits, accrued expenses, insurance premiums, vehicle expenses and packing and shipping.
- You can now set and change your fiscal year-end date in Fiscal year & closing documents.
- In Bank transactions, transactions that match a common journal entry rule now show Post with this rule.
- You can now add a description note to deposit and withdrawal categorization rules.
- A warning now appears when a receipt's qualified invoice registration number is invalid (its check digit doesn't match).
- Expenses can now be viewed by fiscal year and month, with totals for the period, and you can view the original receipt on the details screen.
- You can now edit fixed assets and record their sale.
- The Accounting dashboard now shows This week's tasks and Bookkeeping automation.
Fixes
- Fixed an issue where dragging and dropping a file did nothing when importing bank statements.
- Fixed an issue in automatic matching of incoming payments where payments with a due date far from the invoice date (such as closing at month-end with payment at the end of the following month) weren't offered as candidates, and an issue where the reason a payment couldn't be matched was shown incorrectly.
- Fixed an issue where, for companies using tax-exclusive accounting, consumption tax wasn't recorded separately when acquiring fixed assets or expensing bank withdrawals.
- Fixed an issue in month-end close where unmatched transactions dated in later months prevented the previous month from being closed.
- Fixed an issue where the default date was set to the previous day when working before 9:00 a.m.
- Fixed an issue where consumption tax amounts were calculated incorrectly in expense claims.
- Fixed an issue where the counts of matched and ignored transactions in Bank transactions were shown incorrectly.
- Fixed an issue where a receipt wasn't treated as a qualified invoice even after its registration number was re-entered.
