Contract templates by type, related contracts and recurring billing

Build contract text from templates for each contract type and finalize it, then manage links between master agreements and individual contracts, plus billing and renewals after signing, from the contract screen.

Before

Changing the contract type left the clauses on the same template, and billing and renewals after signing had to be handled manually while checking the ledger.

What's new

  • Finalizing the text: Generate the text from a template, review and edit the clauses, then finalize it with Review and finalize text. The finalized text is the source for the preview, PDF, Word file and e-contract. You can also include tables in the text (pasting from Excel and Word is supported).
  • Contract types: Choose your business type in Type settings on the contract list to use templates for commonly used contract types (master agreement, order acknowledgment, quasi-mandate services agreement and more). For each type, you can set its name, your company's role and your own template (imported from Word).
  • Related contracts: Register the chain of master agreement → individual contract → memorandum and view it by company. You'll be warned if their periods don't line up.
  • After signing: Create invoices according to the Payment schedule, automatically create monthly invoice drafts with Recurring billing (monthly), and manage auto-renewals and expirations along with their history.
  • Appendices: Add text, table and PDF appendices and reorder them. Numbers are assigned automatically.
  • Mismatch warnings: If you change the amount, period or other details after finalizing the text, the details screen shows the mismatch, and sending the e-contract is blocked until you finalize the text again.
  • Contracts created elsewhere: Use Read fields with AI to extract the signing date, term, auto-renewal and amount from an uploaded contract PDF. (You choose which fields to apply.)
  • Approval before sending: Turn on Require administrator approval before sending in Type settings, and e-contracts can't be sent until an administrator clicks Approve sending.
  • Contracts signed on paper: Enter the signing date and the other party's signatory in Register signing to move the contract to Active in a single step.
  • The contract details screen now shows a preview of the contract on the left and the status and summary cards on the right.

Who it's for

  • Industries: small businesses and sole proprietors
  • Screens: Quotes & Invoices > Contracts

How to use it

  1. Open Quotes & Invoices > Contracts. If it's your first time, choose your business type in Type settings.
  2. Create a contract with Create contract, then click Review and finalize text on the details screen.
  3. After signing, set up a payment schedule or recurring billing in the billing card on the details screen.

Note: Templates are general examples. For important contracts, we recommend having them reviewed by a professional.
