Issued invoices can now be corrected under the same number

Fix errors in an issued invoice by reissuing it as a corrected version under the same number. Earlier versions are kept, in line with Japan's Electronic Bookkeeping Act.

Before

To fix an issued invoice, you had to cancel it and reissue it under a new number.

What's new

  • Use Correct in the invoice details to enter a reason for the correction and edit the invoice. The number stays the same, and the version number goes up.
  • "Corrected version" appears next to the title on the invoice, and a small note at the bottom states that it has been corrected (the version number, the correction date and the issue date of the previous version). The e-seal is reapplied with a new verification code.
  • The status card shows the correction history (version, date, amount and reason), and you can download copies (PDF) of previous versions.
  • If the amount, date, line items or company changes, the sales journal entry is automatically reversed and recreated. (Invoices in closed months can't be corrected.)
  • Invoices with recorded payments can't be corrected.
