E-contracts with an access code no longer need an email code
When you send an e-contract with an access code, the other party now verifies their identity with the access code alone and can sign without waiting for an email verification code.
Before
Even with an access code, signers had to enter a verification code sent by email before signing.
What's new
- For signature requests with an access code, the signing page no longer asks for a verification code, and no verification code email is sent.
- Signature requests without an access code still use an email verification code, as before.
- Access codes entered when signing are also locked after 5 incorrect attempts.
- The certificate of agreement records that the signer was verified by access code.
- The signature request email and the send screen now describe the verification method that applies.
Who it's for
- Industries: small businesses and sole proprietors (also applies to electronic delivery of real estate documents)
- Screens: Quotes & invoices > Contracts > contract details > Send as e-contract
How to use it
- On the contract details screen, click Send as e-contract.
- Turn on Require an access code (recommended) and send.
- Give the access code shown to the other party by phone, in person or another way other than email.
