Organize customers, suppliers and government bodies in one list
Beyond sales customers, you can now keep suppliers, vendors, banks and government bodies in the same customer list, organized by type. Payment terms, contact points and deadlines can be recorded too, and the list stays in sync with the accounting counterparty list.
Before
Everything in the customer list was treated as a sales customer, so suppliers and government bodies that admin and accounting teams deal with couldn't be kept separate.
What's new
- Type: Pick every type that applies: Customer, Prospect, Supplier, Service provider, Bank, Government / public body, Partner / referrer or Other (for example, a company that is both a customer and a supplier). If the corporate number shows it's a government body, that type is selected automatically.
- Views: Switch the list between Customers & prospects, Suppliers & vendors, Government and All (your last view is remembered). Supplier and government views show purpose, contact point, closing and payment terms and the next deadline instead of rank.
- Terms & contact: Record the closing day, payment month and payment day (shown as, for example, "closes at month-end, paid at the end of the following month"), the purpose of the relationship, and the other side's contact department.
- Linked deadlines: Choose a customer for a deadline in Visa & License Deadlines, and it appears under Deadlines on the customer's page, with the Next deadline shown in the list (small businesses and sole proprietors).
- Linked to accounting: Customers are matched automatically with accounting counterparties (customers, suppliers and lenders), and each can be opened from the other.
- Companies added from business cards start as Prospect and become Customer when a deal is won.
- The list has a new Corporate Number column, also shown in the basic information on the details page. Related items are stacked on two lines, and clicking a row no longer opens the details, so you can select and copy text; open details with the eye icon.
